The constant flow of visitors to the booth demonstrated the industry’s desire for new and emerging technologies. According to a recent article published by the Pew Research Center, tablet adoption has almost doubled over the past year, with almost a third (34%) of American adults now tablet owners. Almost every major demographic group experienced significant growth in tablet ownership between April 2012 and May 2013. This includes adults ages 65 and older who may have previously been excluded as ePRO candidates based on their limited interest and experience with the technology.
